Fly fishing, floating and R&R this past weekend… A small contingent of Mountainsmith’ers and some friends hit the Colorado River for an overnight float trip from Pumphouse to State Bridge.

Check out a few pics from the river and the Conifer 5+ Tent that kept us dry and happy under some pounding thunderstorms.

Jay setting up the tent
We pulled off the river around 2pm on the first day to get tents and shelters up and ride out the impending thunderstorms…here our Director of Sales and Marketing, Jay Getzel, gets to work on the Conifer 5+ set up.

That quick it's all set up… its beer:30, time to take cover and prep for dinner time…

Ready for Day 2 on the river
The morning fog is lifting after an afternoon and evening of thunderstorms. Coffee brightening the day of our crew… Ready for day #2 on the river.

Boats are ready

The Conifer 5+ Tent drying out in the morning sun as we pack up camp and get ready for another relaxing day on the river. The storms the night before sent some sediment downstream and made for a challenging second day of fishing, but good times were had by all! Still riding the high of an excellent weekend in Colorado!

Have you ever seen your local mountains from a boat? Tell us about it and what you took along!  If not?  We highly recommend it.  A phenomenal way to experience the mountains from a different perspective.

  1. I cannot wait to use our Conifer Tent! I am pretty sure it is bigger than the RV we lived in all last year. Trying it out in a few weeks on our way to Utah.
