Position Description:    Sales and Experience Coordinator

Job Summary/Responsibilities:


Sales Assistance:

  • Manage the Showroom at Mountainsmith Headquarters
    • Greet, engage and assist visitors with product and brand questions
    • Manage showroom and backroom inventory
    • Maintain showroom aesthetic and clean presentation in adherence with brand standards
    • Provide and manage a positive brand experience for customers
      • Be the “front-line” for the brand that is responsible for creating a welcoming, friendly, engaging, and positive experience with the brand across all platforms
        • In-person showroom & events
        • Online- e-mails & questions on website & all social platforms


  • Assist Dealer Services with order entry and processing
    • Enter phone, fax, e-mail, and orders into business system for shipment within 24 hours
    • Coordinate order status, tracking and communication on entered orders
    • Facilitate the resolution of order processing problems including mis-shipments, shortages, pricing errors and returns requests
    • Assist Dealer Services and Sales Team to drive new sales and deepen current sales relationships
      • Acts as the liaison between new customers and credit to ensure prompt processing of new dealer applications, customer account set up and processing of the opening order.
      • Maximizes sales through outbound calling, add on sales, suggestive selling of new products, and backorders
      • Acts as an integral member of the sales team through the proactive and reactive generation of dealer and direct sales
      • Builds relationships with dealers and assists them with all of their sales and service needs.
      • Execute distribution channel specific sales projects (pet, camera, military)
      • Provides dealers assistance with product selection and substitute items for out of stock items.
      • Conduct sales presentations as necessary
      • Attend and assist with trade shows, sales meetings, and dealer-facing events
  • Assist with Sales, Marketing and Service data analysis and insights
    • Assist in the monthly and seasonal reporting process and analyze data to uncover sales opportunities
    • Research and competitive analysis of new distribution channels
    • Assist marketing team with sales data curation and analysis
  • Assist with e-commerce and marketing needs
    • Upload product information into vendor portals
    • Process online orders with shipping and tracking updates
    • Update inventory for online retail partners and
    • Answer customer questions around current marketing promotions and events
    • Assist marketing team with consumer-facing events, which may include weeknights or weekends
    • Assist Marketing Coordinator with pro programs and pro sales
    • Assist marketing team on creative projects, including but not limited to photoshoots, brand videos, and asset creation
  • Assist Product Team with product information
    • Keep product team informed with crucial customer feedback that can be used to improve & refine the Mountainsmith product line
    • Provide product team with reports that will help influence the management and assortment of the product line


Customer Service:

  • Manage all customer communication via office main line, voicemail, service email, and walk-ins
  • Provides product information and technical support to dealers and end users
  • Serves as the front line and steward of the brand in all customer interactions


Warranty Coordination:

  • Answer customer and dealer warranty calls and emails for Mountainsmith
  • Point person for incoming warranty goods and the repair/delivery of goods with our repair facility
  • Manage the RA (Return Authorization) log via our file/on-line documentation system
  • Responsible for shipping warranty parts to customers
  • Streamline the warranty process for maximum customer satisfaction
  • and brand profitability.
  • Travel weekly to our repair facility to drop off/pick up repaired product  
  • Maintain well stocked shipping supplies
  • Understand Domestic and International shipment process using Worldship
  • Assist all Team Members with shipments, as needed.
  • Receive shipments and mail, deliver to correct dept/individual.

Educational/Experience/Necessary characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics or marketing (or applicable experience).
  • Friendly and professional with a positive attitude a must.
  • Strong follow up and organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple and changing priorities.

  • Passion for outdoor recreation, breakfast burritos, and daily sarcasm
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of outdoor business and the company’s position in the market preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

This Position is not responsible for supervising others.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires occasional travel to support trade shows and/or dealer or marketing events.

Working Conditions and Time Commitment:

Normal office environment. Must be able to sit and utilize standard office equipment for prolonged periods of time (phone, computer, fax, etc). Extended hours and occasional weekends will be required as business cycles demand.

Physical Requirements:

Able to sit/stand for extended periods of time.  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
