This was a great replacement pack for my previousmountainsmith day pack, which lasted 20 years.

sleeper EDC bag at a killer price

So many great things about this bag! Sort of a stealth AER, but a bit less urban and much cheaper. Love that the laptop compartment is separate from the other two compartments, and it has a few lash points on the outside and straps, in case you wanted to use them for attaching stuff. Yet, bag does not look too tactical. : ) While it is only 250d cordura, that makes it weigh around 1 lb less than competitors. Not sure why the Divide doesn't have more well-known love on the interwebs.Only things I would change about the Divide (and I'd pay a bit more to have them) -1. I would like a vertically oriented quick access pocket (that is, the same exact pocket, just deeper, so you can fit your sunglasses case and phone vertically.2. zipper pulls attached to the metal pulls, so it doesn't jangle so much. Perhaps color coded to differentiate between the quick access pocket and the other (I modded my own in this way; i put paracord pulls on the big central compartment, and different colored nylon pulls on the others).3. different stretchy material for the water bottle pockets; i feel like if I keep putting water bottles in there, they're going to stay stretched out eventually and the bag won't look as nice. If that is even possible; perhaps snaps on the pockets + stretch are the way?4. a breathable back panel - most of the EDC bags don't seem to give this too much thought, but when it is stupid hot outside, after 15 minutes, your back will be sweaty already. Except for true 'hiking' bags (or say, the Osprey daylite line) nobody seems to care too much about this.5. Perhaps a way to attach an ac adapter to a fixed position inside the laptop compartment. Probably wouldn't work so well for larger laptops, but would be great for a 13". Maybe more difficult than it is worth.6. maybe another alternate reflective light color option besides the Basil? : )Overall, great work Mountainsmith! I tell folks about your bag all the time.
