Honest Review Evo Strapettes
Ordered these new Evo Strapettes for hiking with my Day pack which currently uses the Strapettes. First what I LOVE about them: the front storage & the fact that they don't twist around like the regular strapettes when trying to put them on. What I LIKE about them: seem much more heavy duty than regular strapettes & comfortable (although not as comfortable as the strapettes). What I HATE about them: when you take off the pack to set it on the ground everything dumps out of the pockets & water bottles go upside down and the top chest strap constantly pops off! Now I do want to say I think the chest strap might be ok for men, but maybe it just can't handle women's breasts very well. I think a woman's chest just pushes up on the chest strap & causes it to pop off. Somehow I will McGyver it to stay on, but I shouldn't have to. What I think they got WRONG: The entire upper portion of the front is wasted space. There is a piece of webbing that goes down along with two totally useless clips. Those clips do nothing that I can tell, but be decorative. & slide up and down, as they adjust nothing! They could have added a couple of pieces of horizontally placed elastic up there to hang things on. Take the same large piece of horizontal elastic from the Strapette and add it instead of those plastic clips. Then we will have a piece of elastic to hang our GPS/Garmin In Reach, range finders, duck calls, etc. Right now I put my Garmin In Reach on the vertical webbing and it slides way down. What I didn't EXPECT: These new straps sort of block the side pockets on my Day Pack and make them more difficult to get into. But, maybe it's just because I'm really short (5'1"). I think they would work just fine for a taller person. That being said, I get that I'm very short, but I feel like this entire setup is made for a man that is taller. It's the story of my life, so I won't fault you for that! But it would be nice if you offered at a small & large size. Note: I did buy these online at Scheels. I tried to buy direct from MountainSmith, but they didn't offer free shipping on them like Scheels did. Overall I do think it is a good product and I think with a way to keep the chest strap from popping up & off and add a couple of pieces of elastic to the top of the arm straps for gadgets it would be an AWESOME PRODUCT!

Excellent addition.
This a very excellent addition to my tour pack. It adds incredible support for the extra loads that I add to my pack and is very comfortable. The extra pockets enable me to carry the remaining gear that I require for my everyday carry essentials. I would recommend this particular strapette over the standard one due to its more versatile form and fit.
A little pricey but worth it over the more affordable version available.

Great addition to my Day Lumbar Pack
I have purchased several products from Mountainsmith, and they are all of excellent quality. The most recent EVO Strappette gives me additional front storage while at the same time, giving my lumbar pack extra support.
