The poles to use if poles are critical safety equipment

I'm in my early 50s, and I have come to realize that trekking poles are critical safety equipment for me, so I have to be able to trust my poles and I cannot afford to have them fail. I have a pair of 2024 Dolomite 7075 OLS, which was the single-pole version of the Tellurites. I trust them on every hike. I was with a friend a few years ago who was borrowing a pair from me, and he slipped on steep grassy tussocks and landed on one of poles with it bridging two tussocks. He put a 45 degree bend in the lower section, but the pole didn't break and it still worked. Back at home, I was able to unbend it most of the way and it still serves as a loaner pole for guests. That is incredible toughness - these poles are the trekking equivalent of the Scott Series 4 ski poles - bomber equipment you can trust to last and be there when you need it.

The 2024 model has welcome upgrades that addressed some issues with the earlier poles - grippier straps, better and more durable hiking baskets, and replaceable carbide tips. What hasn't changed is the unshakeable confidence I have in these poles. If trekking poles are a nice-to-have comfort issue for you, then look for lighter poles. If trekking poles are critical safety equipment for you look no further and get these!

I trust my Tellurites on every hike. Every. Single. One.

This is my second pair of Tellurite poles (my wife is still on her first). I’m a senior citizen and I never hike without them. I love the cork grips, easy adjustment, and light weight quality construction. Highly recommended.

Awesome Service and product

While hiking with these I poorly placed a tip crossing a river and bent the bottom, section. I was sure I likely would need to replace an entire pole, so I contacted customer service to hopefully only need to order the replacement section and was amazed when they said they were shipping me a replacement section for free the same day. And they did! Great product and amazing customer service!
