These replacement baskets work with all Mountainsmith trekking poles made before 2024. They are a handy accessory in the event of a lost or damaged basket. (Pin Lock style, not threaded) (Do not work with older Andesite poles which require threaded attachment)

Baskets Come Off and Come Apart

The replacement baskets lasted exactly one day. On day 2, one of the baskets came off somewhere, and the other one came apart, leaving the basket free to slide up the pole. Good thing I got three pairs.

Hiking baskets break in freezing weather.

As others have noted, the hiking baskets break in freezing weather. I live in Alaska and when I went hiking recently in about 15 degree F weather. I didn’t swap out the hiking baskets for snow baskets. Applying the slightest pressure snaps them. These are really not made for even moderately cold weather. Skimping on the quality of plastic material is a good consumer practice. One star: They flunk the Alaska test.

Great, Hiking baskets

My hiking baskets went on easer of my older hiking sticks. They fit really well.

Not for winter use

I've broken 3 of these this winter, I guess I need to switch to snow baskets for cold weather (even though I do not need snow baskets, but I need something that's not going to fail in cold weather, last one lasted ONE week)
