This is a very good tent for the price.No problems in the family camping trip to Florence Lake in California's High Sierra.

I have not had a chance to use this tent yet but did set it up when it arrived. Set up was easy and it seems like it will be a perfect tent for our horse pack trips. However, the specs state this tent is 6 lbs. That is incorrect. This tent weighs almost 16 lbs so not something you'd want to consider for backpacking. Our pack horses can carry it easily enough.

On the whole I like' this tent very much! It's luxuriously roomy inside even with a queen size air mattress and two people's luggage, but I'm not sure how the five people it's built for would find it. The best thing is the roomy front vestibule which is like having a front porch, great for sitting under when raining and provides shade in the sun. Two large camp chairs fit in the vestibule with plenty of room to spare, no claustrophobia. I've already used this tent in about a 24 hour steady rain and did have one little rivulet of water run down in the inside of the tent from near a corner, due I strongly suspect to the footprint groundcloth sticking out slightly even though it was stake into the tent grommets. Once the footprint groundcloth was shoved more under the tent body and the rain fly unclipped and staked out further, the rivulet ceased. That being said, I would like to see this tent design improved slightly; I prefer staking the rain fly out more leaving more space between the tent body and the fly, and that can be done except for the spot on either side where the front vestibule ridge pole ends slip into the grommets on the bottom tent straps. I would like to see that vestibule ridge pole sleeve sewn on the underside of the vestibule rather than the exterior side so that I could stake the rain fly further out at those two points as well as around the rest of the tent. When the rain fly is clipped to the tent body as intended and staked in the same loops as the tent is staked which is how the instructions tell you to assemble it, there just isn't much clearance between the tent body and the rain fly and I imagine the rain fly might bounce on and off the tent body during a driving rain which probably wouldn't be a good thing. My only other slightly negative comment about this tent is that apparently the quality control inspector was asleep at the switch the day they made my tent; the corner of the expansion gadget that is supposed to hold the top rain fly vent open was sewn into a seam making it unusable until I bought a pair of scissors to snip it free. Also there are already two small gaps in the storage bag (which is like a nifty little soft sided suitcase) where the fabric of the case has separated from the elastic. The fabric at the edge of these separations is a frayed edge, seems like there should have been something to finish off and strengthen that edge before it was sewn onto the elastic. These two slight problems are easy fixes but I am surprised to see something like these minor quality control problems in this rather expensive tent. On the positive side, staking out all of the guy lines provided during a couple of days of windy conditions (20 mph winds with gusts up to 30-40) kept this tent secure and stable. Also, I did not experience any condensation problems during the week I used this tent. All in all, I'm pleased with my purchase and think it will last.

A little over two years ago we bought this tent for car camping. When it first arrived we were impressed by how light it was. We set it up which was easy for one person and noticed how spacious this tent is! Personally I am coming from the two person dome tent land but we decided we wanted to be able to stand up to change and have a queen raised air mattress. There is so much room in this tent it’s amazing. The fly goes to the ground so in a few severe thunderstorm we stayed dry. Wind 30 mph gusts might blow it down the back side in a headwind but if you anchor the guy lines it will withstand it. The walls are almost completely screens which could be a weakness in the design. We tent to camp into late September in northern Maine in New Hampshire and some nights get into the 30’s but we have heavy sleeping bags for those nights. The vestibule is so large we have played cards by sitting in two chairs and having a small table set up. Overall we are very happy with the quality and design of this tent!
