Andesite All The Way!!!

I have over 3,000 miles on my previous gen Andesite poles. One of the lightest on the market, these poles rock! Two piece design is better. Less weight, less adjustments. I only collapse my poles when in town. No need for 3 sections. The 18mm wide carbon is strong and sturdy. Keep replacing tips, and these will last a very long time. Most hikers are shocked when I hand one to them. They cannot believe how light they are. That lightless allows for faster, and therefore safer movement. Twist lock is far better than cam locks in my opinion. And Mountainsmith has THE BEST customer service I have ever experienced from any company ever! Forever customer here.

So easy to adjust and lock

You literally just twist the pole to lock it in place. Not a ring clamp - there's no little plastic ring to tighten with two fingers. You just grab the bottom pole -- the pole itself -- and twist clockwise to tighten. Piece of cake. It stays put and does not slip. Trekking poles are new to me, but to me they feel light, sturdy, and easy to use. I needed something simple, no fuss, and this is it.

Excellent!

First impressions: very sturdy, great locking mechanism. I love the design of the handle and the strap . Appears to be a very well thought out design. (and very pleasing to the eye) Considering the excellent design, the quality of construction and affordable price, these poles are a great bargain! I'm looking forward to getting out on the trail this year and putting some miles on them!

Unique. Light. Strong. Comfortable.

We're full-time cross-country hiking guides in Utah canyon country. We've used these poles for years, and we like them. Super light. Fast swing weight. Strong. And the replaceable tips are a big advantage over most poles. Yes, we've tried the best models from the most popular brands, and we believe the Andesite competes with them all. The new 2024 version of the Andesite is a slight improvement, with straps that are just a bit wider and a smidge more substantial, thus more comfortable than the minimal "skin" straps on previous versions. If you're disinclined to try a twist-lock pole, don't worry. These twist locks work as quickly and easily as clamps, plus they're less fussy as well as more reliable over the long haul. And the price? For all-carbon poles, the Andesites are unbeatable. Five stars.

Awesome!

This is my 2nd set of these. They are game changers in my ability to navigate the backcountry at 58 years old. The only reason I have bought a 2nd set is because I left the last set leaned up against my car at the trailhead and drove off. Hopefully someone else is getting good use of them. lol
