Day evo lumbar pack

Pack is well made with solid material. A lumbar pack of this size should come with shoulder straps. The shoulder straps that pair are too bulky and awkward, something simple would work much better in this application. The weight this pack will carry is too much for how the harness attaches, and causes the pack to tilt backwards hard, and the included straps for adjustment do not help ANY. To combat this i had to hook the shoulder straps to the face of the pack where the compression buckles clip in. Waist belt needs to be more rigid, and the molle for the pouch doesnt line up with the molle on the waist belt.
I use this for a saddle hunting pack, and carry a platform and 3 sticks. Approx weight 8-12lbs. I hope that they improve on this pack because other than that, i love it. It could be the only thing on the market that fits this area, but needs work.

Bought this pack to do the coast to coast walk thru Englan from the west coast to the east coast

Bought this pack to do the coast to coast walk thru Englan from the west coast to the east coast, didn't want to load myself down with a super large pack so opted for the Mountainsmith. 2nd review to follow .

Great pack, not worth double the price

I have multiple Day, Tour and Drift packs and love them all. This EVO Day pack is great as well.

Pros:
Durable, well built and high quality. Molle webbing is great and provides more capacity for carrying great. The bright hunter orange interior is pretty cool. It comes with an extra pouch that can button onto the molle webbing.

Cons:
Nearly double the price of a normal Day lumbar pack. Didn’t come straps like normal lumbar packs. It lacks an internal zippered pocket that is available in the normal pack. The back panel is extra stiff and doesn’t bend like my normal Day pack. (Maybe that’s a good thing). I also didn’t like how the Tour packs had more color options than the Day.

The upgrades are okay but not worth a 2x price increase.

The pack overall is AMAZING it’s just not worth the price I paid. If I went back in time I would’ve bought the normal Day lumbar pack along with the Tour for the price of the EVO Day pack.

Next Level lumbar pack

I'm a big fan of lumbar packs, I picked up my first Mountansmith Day pack in the 90's.

when I saw the EVO in Multi cam, I knew I had to have it, combined with the harness it's a game changer.

Pros:
Color, Multi cam can appear faded on some brands of gear.

PALS webbing inside and out, gives you the ability to add pouches and accessories inside and out.

Deep water bottle pockets on either side will hold a 33 oz Smart Water bottle or a Stanley Adventure thermos.

Cons:
Velcro strap keepers, being just a velcro strap and not sown onto the straps will be easily lost.

Straps for the accessorie pouch, didn't fit the best, so I replaced those with Tactical Tailor Malice clips.

Double Sternum straps on the strapettes, I wish they had would have used a wider single strap.

Overall, I've been running this with 15-20 lbs, and it feels great.

I've been using this for spring hunting season and day hikes in the Appalachian mountains.

It's a great piece of gear.
