We had significant issues with the hiking baskets that came with the pre-2024 7075 poles. The polyurethane baskets were breaking after just one season of summer use. I noticed the material difference between the hiking baskets and the snow baskets and decided to give the snow baskets a try. These are much more durable and have lasted for multiple seasons of heavy use. I cut off the outer segments with diagonal cutters because the baskets were interfering with pole tip traction on steeper slopes, leaving just the inner ring. These have seen significant abuse and are still going strong. Polyethylene is just way more durable and doesn't seem to suffer from the fatigue failure seen with the polyurethane baskets.

Bought these to use with the EVO Tour. Amazing upgrade! Turns the pack into the best day hike/ fishing pack I have ever used.

These are great!

I bought this in 2019 after the Department of Veteran Affairs issued me a worthless piece of junk cane designed for a nursing home (and undoubtedly charged the American Taxpayer far more than I ponied up for the Globetrotter).
I found mine at the Lake Superior Trading Post in Grand Marais and it helped me get back to hiking again.
It took me awhile to get the hang of assembly and disassembly before air travel, but since then it’s been my constant and most reliable travel companion to Venice, London, Canada, a Transatlantic sea voyage, sailing to Catalina and even a few red carpets. It fits perfectly in a carry on which comes in handy when you get abandoned in the airport wheelchair at JFK. 😉✈️😂
My only wish is that they’d come out with a more durable boot cover in an eco friendly material to protect marble, wood and historic floors. I’ve probably powered thru 10 of the boot covers in the last 6 years, but it’s nice they are replaceable.
This is hands down the, sleekest, most versatile, lightest and hardiest cane design I’ve ever found. I love the natural cork handle too. After decades of loving Mountainsmith Gear this has been my best purchase yet.

We’ve used these in our Scout troop since 2019. They have held up well, including 50 mph winds (properly guyed) that destroyed other tents. They are roomy and vented enough for summer camp and have been used for January snow camping. Using just the fly & footprint is a great lightweight option for backpacking.

This pack is even better than you think. It's loaded with pockets and straps, making it very versatile. It's got hidden zippered pockets for passports and money, easy access pockets for notebooks and rain poncho, two water bottle pockets and a large pocket for snacks, bird book and binoculars. There's a waist belt for hiking and a shoulder strap for the airport. I got the Tour size, it fits everything I need and fits under the airplane seat.

It is nice but a tad less space than my last Sixer and there’s no bottle-opener keychain with the new version 🤪. I know, it’s not really necessary!😀
Is there any way I can get the zipper repaired on my old Sixer?

This a very excellent addition to my tour pack. It adds incredible support for the extra loads that I add to my pack and is very comfortable. The extra pockets enable me to carry the remaining gear that I require for my everyday carry essentials. I would recommend this particular strapette over the standard one due to its more versatile form and fit.
A little pricey but worth it over the more affordable version available.

My hiking baskets went on easer of my older hiking sticks. They fit really well.

The Drift Evo is the perfect size for a lot of my milder-weather day hikes. I combine it with a chest rig, and can carry everything I need while still staying light. Having owned the regular Drift in the past, this isn't just the same bag with attachment points thrown on it - it's a serious upgrade in a variety of ways.

I have purchased several products from Mountainsmith, and they are all of excellent quality. The most recent EVO Strappette gives me additional front storage while at the same time, giving my lumbar pack extra support.

Still love it.

Quite a bargain for basically 4 bags. They are pretty floppy when empty but they seem very well made. I look forward to finally getting my gear organized for easy trip planning

I love my trekking poles from Mountainsmith. I finally wore through the first tip, and after seeing several videos on how to replace it, I was expecting a bit of work. No! Easy on, just pull! New ones fit like a charm!
I have purchased a Tour Lumbar Pack, a Day Lumbar Pack, as well as the Timber Sling, and all of them have lived up to my expectations. This company makes superb products that I use on a daily basis. I highly recommend their gear!
