strapettes

the strapettes are a great add on if your pack is saging and need more support. wish mountainsmith would just include it in the costs of their fany packs. because they are needed if you put anything of weigh in the pack such as water bottles !

Too Tall?

Because of my height I had to extend these straps to their maximum length in order to get the fanny pack to fit properly on my hips. I am 6-1, so I don't know what a taller person would have to do. That said, the fully extended straps do the job but with one issue. The cross strap that should fit across my chest now rests at the base of my neck. It works, but not as comfortable as it should be.

Straps a must

Love the secureness that this strap added to the pack. Strap cinched very well and held all in place. A nice addition to the pack IMO.

Love these straps!

If you enjoy using the Mountainsmith lumbar packs, these straps are a must! The problem with most lumbar packs is that when loaded with a bit of equipment and weight, you can feel it and recognize it pulling you and your pants down. A heavier lumbar pack also causes for the need to bend your torso forward more—almost hunched forward—for better weight distribution. These straps allow for solid weight distribution and make using a heavier lumbar pack comfortable and convenient.Using a lumbar pack sometimes makes better sense than carrying a backpack based on the situation, and Mountainsmith has provided a great option for allowing one to carry a heavier lumbar pack without the inconvenience that carrying a full backpack can sometimes present.
